By their trials the righteous flourished…

“Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, and distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”  II Corinthians 12:10

“By their trials, the righteous flourished so it was with the three children, so with Daniel, Moses, and Joseph; from this they all shown and were counted worthy of great crowns. For the soul is purified when it is afflicted for God’s sake: it then enjoys greater assistance… Affliction tears pride away and prunes out all listlessness and exercises to patience.” St. John Chrysostom, Homily XXVI on II Corinthians

With COV19 shutdowns and their consequences: mentally, physically, and spiritually, with hurricanes, fires, and locusts in Africa, hunger and thirst, may God have mercy on us and help us in our hours of need, help us to help others and love each other vs becoming violent and hateful, for all is possible and redeemed through love and patient endurance in our tribulations.

Hang in there everyone!
