The Lord said, “No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a vessel, or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a stand, that those who enter may see the light. For nothing is hid that shall not be made manifest, nor anything secret that shall not be known and come to light. Take heed then how you hear; for to him who has will more be given, and from him who has not, even what he thinks that he has will be taken away. (Lk 8:16-19)
While God asks us to be meek and humble, He also asks us to let the light of Christ shine through us to others – to not hide the “talent” God has given us through Holy Baptism in the ground, but to use it and multiply it for His name’s sake. I personally have to keep this before me as someone who has been called by God to write about my life as an Orthodox Christian for His glory, not mine.
“Be of good cheer” and spread the “Good Word”. So many are in need and one never knows the full extent of the reach of God through us to others – especially in this modern age of technology. God bless you in your efforts! He certainly has blessed me in mine. In secret recesses of our hearts, God listens and when we most need our answer, it comes according to His will, not ours, so we will know it is He that answered our prayers.
